I'm done playing the game

You know which game ... the one we are taught to play during our formative years, that society, school, our families encourage us to play because it makes us more socially acceptable.

The game where we abandon ourselves for the "dream" of fitting in and finding love: pleasing others, not rocking the boat, taking the smooth path, being 'nice', being self-less (and on and on the list goes!).

Well, I'm done!

Done pleasing others ...

Done trying to get it "right" ... (there is no such thing)

Done striving ...

Done abandoning my Self through self-criticism, comparing, self-shaming ...

Done trying to be what will make others feel comfortable (some of you will wonder when I ever did ;-)!) ...

Done thinking about what other's are thinking of me (the secret is that they, simply, are not!) ...

Done playing the role I thought would gain me approval, love, friendship, support, clients ...

Done reading all the words out there about how I am not enough ... (skinny enough, a good enough Mother etc etc)

Done hoping I won't have to do it alone...

Done hiding my darkness...

Done hiding my feelings...

Done hustling for worthiness...

DONE!

How about you??
